Casting Call for Walter Cronkite impersonator:
Missouri Western State University will hold auditions for actors to portray legendary news anchor Walter Cronkite in the one-man play, Cronkite. Individuals should resemble and be able to vocally recreate the voice of Walter Cronkite. This is a continuing performance opportunity that occurs on an arbitrary schedule that coincides with guided tours of the Walter Cronkite Memorial on the campus of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO. Out-of-town auditions are welcome. Email a video (.mov or .m4v) of your audition materials as outlined above to firstname.lastname@example.org. If possible, please send a link to the video rather than emailing the actual video file.
General Call: Prepare a light comedic monologue, not to exceed 60 seconds. Prepare the solor that fits your voice type. Be prepared to sing from your audition book if asked.
Callbacks: (same day) You should be prepared to cold read from the play and learn and sing a song from the show (sides and music provided).

Harold's chummy old friend and former con man, he now lives in River City and is trying to settle down. Male, 30-40 yrs old, Range: G2 - A4
The stuffy town librarian and music teacher. She is an attractive young lady who eventually falls for Harold Hill. Stuck up. Curious. Female, 20-30 yrs old, Range: G3 - A5

Male, any ethnicity, late 20s – 40, strong baritone, supporting lead. An arrogant, obnoxious, bumbling, fraud investigator with delusions of competence. Requires an actor who’s not afraid to exploit his inner dork. (Note for MC: Character is 40-50)
African-American male, 25-30, strong baritone, handsome and extremely likable, a jazz musician with sex appeal, charisma and just a few wayward tendencies, married to Emma.
Female, any ethnicity, 25-30, soprano, serious and wise, a striking and attractive dreamer, conflicted between her feelings for Arnold and her spiritual nature.
Male, any ethnicity, 25-35, strong baritone, wealthy, reformed playboy, a man of (suppressed) excesses.

African-American male, 20-40+, strong tenor, a loyal follower of Father Divine with boundless energy; he keeps everything running smoothly at the mission. In his past, neither love nor liquor were good to him.
|MISS GLO RAY||
Female, any ethnicity, 40+, soprano, an elderly, wealthy, flighty, over-the-top eccentric who has dabbled in religion all her life always ready for a good séance. (Note for MC: Character is 70+)
|MOTHER DIVINE IN THE SECOND BODY||
Female, Caucasian, early 20s, soprano, a striking, well-built blond who knows her way around a Duesenberg. This actor will also double in the chorus.
